Afternoon Tea at St Mary's Inn

*We were gifted afternoon tea in exchange of a blog post. Proscco was paid for by me.

On quite possibly the hottest Good Friday on record (I don't actually know if that is true). My Mam and I made our way up to Stannington to sample the Rustic afternoon tea St Mary's Inn has to offer.

As St Mary's Inn is dog friendly we took Fenton with us.

As we were greeted by friendly staff who showed us to our table, we talked past other dinners in the court yard enjoying the food while basking in the Sun shine, our waiter could obviously see that I was jealous and swiftly asked us if we wanted to move outside.

So off we moved outside to catch a little bit of April Sunshine!

The thing that surprised me about the Rustic Afternoon tea at St Mary's Inn is you get a choice of sandwich, scone, cake and pie. It's a great way of dodging the bits you don't like and indulge on the bits you do.

I went for, Avocado with pickled red onion, tomato and rocket sandwich, warm cheese and onion quiche, warm cheese scone and warm chocolate brownie. With a pot of peppermint tea and a glass of proscco*.

I'm trying to pick my favourite part of the Rustic Afternoon tea, which is hard but it was all delicious. The cheese and onion quiche was amazing, I reluctantly gave my Mam a taste. Which reminds me, if you're enjoying something don't express your feelings to others around you or they'll all want a bite!

Now I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the Afternoon Tea at St Mary's Inn is the best I've ever had. I loved the fact that you got a choice so you don't end up with anything you're not keen on.

Afternoon tea is served at St Mary's Inn Monday - Sunday 12pm till 4pm booking is essential. To book call 0191 2123000.

I can't wait to go back to St Mary's Inn to sample their evening menu, my sister has been a few times and really enjoys it!
