Loca Latin American Restaurant - South Shields

Loca, the new Latin restaurant in South Shields. As soon as I heard that it was open, I had to go.

So, let’s get to the good stuff, the food. As Matty and I love the idea of tapas we ordered lots.

We ordered via the sugar skull offer, order dishes to equal 4 skulls and add 2 drinks which works out at £20.

Halloumi skewers £4.50, grilled halloumi served with salas.

Garlic and chilli prawns £6.50, prawns in chilli and garlic oil.

Nachos £4, tortilla chips with jalapeños, sour cream, pico de gallo, guacamole, smothered in jalapeno cheese sauce.

Plantain curry £5.50, sweet banana with a lightly spiced curry sauce.

Vegetable empanadas £5, puffy pastry filled with goats cheese and butternut squash.

Lamb meatballs £5.50, homemade spicy lamb meatballs with a tomato sauce topped with parmesan.

And for Matty, a pulled pork Burrito with a side of sweet potato fries as he absolutely loves them.

The food was delicious, as soon as we left the restaurant I was asking Matty when we’d be able to return!

Karen, our server was so lovely too, she told us about the live music weekends which sounded like the perfect start to a night out.

There have so many offers.

Sugar Skull offer, which we did.

Tapas Wednesday, where all tapas dishes are £3 from 3pm.

Taco Thursday, 50% off tacos, burritos and enchiladas.

There is also live music every Friday and Saturday night which sounds like a fantastic night.

Can't wait to head back, hopefully on a weekend so I get to sample some of the cocktails.
