My First Christmas Day, by Fenton

It started out like any other day.

Mama let me out of jail to go for a wee outside, she was dressed in running kit ready to head to parkrun so I assumed it was Saturday. But it wasn't, it was Monday and she wished me a Merry Christmas and told me he'd been.

Who had been?

Anyway, she went out, I ran upstairs and jumped into bed with Uncle Alfie for a morning snuggle.

By the time Mama came back the whole house was up and was very excited. I had eaten my breakfast and Aunty Emily told me what today was all about and it all made sense. We had this strange tree up in the hall of my family home and Grandma had a tree up in the garden room.

It also explained why people kept giving me presents that I wasn't allowed to open! But today was the day I'd get to open the lot!

I had so many, way more than Mama.

I was spoilt rotten with new toys, treats and even a Christmas pudding jumper.

Grandma got me a bowl to keep at her house which matches the one I have at my house.

Even Molly (the doggie next door) sent me a huge bag of treats.

I'm going to have so much fun gobbling all of my new presents up.

Then it was time to give Mama her present from me. She had no clue what she was getting it was a great surprise!

I do my best.

Extended family started to arrive at this point. I didn't know where everyone was going to sit at one point. I knew it was time for my daily walk wearing my Christmas jumper. Mama kept telling me I won't be able to wear it much longer.

By the time we got home and Mama had finished washing her hair it was time for the Queen's speech. Apparently it's a family tradition that we all watch it together.

Just after the Queen's speech Grandma called everyone in to the kitchen as dinner was ready.

Sadly Alfie and I were not invited to stay at the table while the humans ate their two course dinner.

So I was shunned to jail, I did end up having a much needed nap in there. Having a house full of people is extremely tiring work when you're 7 months old.

Post dinner, guess what we did, open MORE presents! Honestly I got spoilt rotten, I gave Mama a kiss to say thank you for all my wonderful presents.

It then got pretty late quite quickly, people started to drift back to their homes and I was left feeling very sleepy and decided to have a much needed nap.

Christmas was just the best day. I can't wait to do it all again next year.

How was your Christmas day? Did you end it with a nap like me?
