Pedigree Tracks App

Fitness is a big part of my life, I have watches that track my movement throughout the day, to ensure I'm not sat down for too long and I have an app that keeps track of what I have eaten throughout the day.

Now there is an app to track your dogs activity too. The Pedigree Tracks app let's you track your dogs exercise activity and diet.

Your health and your dogs health are both equally important. Thinking about your dogs diet and exercise is something I took into consideration when Matty and I were discussing about getting a puppy. Where would we walk him? What food would we feed him? It was also important to me that we changed our lifestyle around the dog.

As Fenton is only a puppy I knew we couldn't walk him or exercise him too much as his joints are still developing, however I had no idea how long was too long. Turns out it is all on the app. Which I found really useful and I have been timing our morning and afternoon walks.

One day I walked Fenton for too long and the app informed me that he was out for too long and we shouldn't be doing it everyday. Which I found useful as it is easy to forget that his little legs can't walk as far as mine.

Something else that is really useful on the app is the training tips. I have been really trying to get Fenton to return to me when I call his name. Taking tips from the app is really helpful for this. While I give Fenton dog treats when he does a command that I ask this isn't always the best way as the app explains.

At the same time when Fenton hits 100% of his target makes me feel really good that I have given my puppy the walks that he needed for that day.

There is a part of the app that allows you to keep check on your dogs weight, which really reassured me as I was worried Fenton might be too thin. Turns out he is the perfect weight for his age and breed.

Overall I find this app extremely useful and while I've been out walking Fenton I've found myself tell lots of our new friends about the app. The app is free available on iTunes and Android.

Let me know what you think of the app and if there are any other dog friendly app's I should download.
