Monday 8/8
10k run I completed it in 1 hour and 7 minutes which I was super proud of as it was rather hilly.
Tuesday 9/8
Rest day.
Wednesday 10/8
As part of my training programme we did interval training. Where we ran for 1 min hard as we could with a 2 min recovery 10 times with a 4 min break in the middle.
Thursday 11/8
Rest day.
Friday 12/8
2.5 mile run no efforts just a nice little ramble out.
Saturday 13/8
I went along to Gateshead 10k trail which I entered back in April. Let's just say I was rather worse for wear for this race. It was a miracle I made it round!
Sunday 14/8
My longest run before the Great North Run 12 miles!! Managing to do this has filled me with so much confidence. I know I'll be able to complete 13.1 miles now.
I feel like I've found my running mojo again. I really wanted to give up the last few weeks. I thought I'd just run the races I've entered and then hang up my trainers for good. But I think my I've fallen back in love with running and I'm super excited for the GNR!!
Don't forget you can sponsor me here as I am running for St Cuthbert's Hospice in Durham, which is on reason I didn't give up training when I felt like I could!
