Harry Potter Studios - Watford Part Two

When I left you in the Harry Potter Studios in my last post Emily and I were having a well earned break at Mrs Weasley's house.

After having a little drink and a break we were felt recharged and ready to explore the studios some more.

We stumbled past some rather dark parts of Harry Potter.

Where wicked magic happens, powerful but dark indeed. Not brilliant for the Muggles.

Then we walked through the Ministry of Magic and came across their worst employee, Umbridge.

And her Cats.
Who also were present when she taught Defence against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts. In my opinion also the worst Hogwarts teacher to ever teach there.

As we wondered out of the scary world of Harry Potter I wasn't prepared for what we were about to see.

Have a guess, below is a clue.

We had to run through the wall at Platform 9 and 3/4.

Of course, it was the Hogwarts Express.

Which completely blew me away. I didn't even know the train would be there. I felt like all my Christmas's had come at once. (I love trains).

We got to meet the train driver.

Emily and I even got a look inside the carriages.

It was pretty exciting seeing Harry and Ron on the train to Hogwarts for the first time.

We knew our tour was sadly coming to an end. I asked the train driver kindly if he would be able to take Emily and I back to London, abruptly I was told no.

A little disheartened I was looking for another for of transport.

The Knight bus. Brilliant. Always there to help witches and wizards.

So I politely asked the conductor a one way ticket back to London town but he was having none of it.

I thought I might be running out of options, but thankfully we found Mr Weasley's Ford Anglia was there.

The car was waiting for us to finish and then promised it would be there to take us back to London.

We called to see the Dursleys' but they were sick of seeing 'magic' people and kept the door locked and the curtains closed.

There's no better place to do your shopping in London other than Diagon Alley! Forget Bond Street and Oxford Street. Just remember to stay away from Knockturn Alley!

Diagon Alley was really busy so we quickly moved on to actual Hogwarts itself!!

I absolutely loved going to the Harry Potter Studios and really want to go back. I was glad we went just really wish we hadn't put it off for so long.

Mr Weasley's Ford Anglia took Emily and I back to London as promised. Thank goodness there were no whomping willows insight.

Advice -
  • Book tickets as soon as you know you want to go. Tickets nearer the time will more than likely be sold out. We were lucky and got our preferred choice.
  • Take a pack lunch. There was a cafĂ© there but the choice of food was limited and extremely expensive.
  • Wear comfortable footwear.
  • If you want to get dressed up, do it. Loads of people were in full Hogwarts Uniform. Just watch where you wave your wand.
