Well it lasted until Friday morning when my parents invited me out for dinner that evening and my boyfriend sent me an email to tell me we were going to a Ball on Saturday night.
I could dress for dinner, a Ball on the other hand not so much.
Friday night we headed out to Finbarrs in Durham. It is without a doubt one of my favourite places to eat in the North East. The food is delicious and the staff are all exceptionally friendly.
I wore my trusty Zara dress that I bought about a year ago. It's my safety dress perfect for going out for dinner as it is so floaty.
M&S coat,
M&S shoes,
Mullberry bag,
Primark super cosy tights.
I had cod for dinner and a knickerbocker glory for pudding. Food was extremely good.
Onto Saturday night.
I didn't have long to find a dress. I ordered 3 from ASOS on Friday afternoon and they arrived on Saturday afternoon and they were a bit of a let down to be honest.
My Mam's next door neighbour popped over to Mam's house and I explained to her my dress drama I had going on and she said that she had a ball gown I could borrow if I wanted.
I did. I loved it. I felt like a princess.
I had my hair done at the new hair salon in Framwellgate Moor in Durham called Mirror Mirror and I felt so glamorous.
The Ball was at the Hilton in Gateshead and was for Children's Charity in the North East.
I won the silent auction for golf for 2 and an overnights stay with breakfast at Rockcliffe hall. Which I was over the moon with!
We had a fantastic night and didn't get home till 5am. Which of course meant on Sunday I only left my sofa to go to the bath and then head to bed. So it was a pretty good weekend! Hope you had a good weekend too.
Weekend dress up.
