South Causey Inn - Stanley

After our walk in Gibside Matty and I were pretty hungry. As we had Fenton we were limited to where we could go. I was sure that South Causey Inn was dog friendly so we decided to risk it and made our way there.

There were plenty of space to park your car even though there was a wedding on along with lots of families coming together for Sunday lunch. I carried Fenton inside and ask the question and once everyone had stopped cuddling him we were told that he was more than welcome to stay for dinner.

Fenton was even given a special bed for him to nap on while we ate our dinner.

I thought this was a real sweet touch as it meant he could have a comfy nap while we ate our food in peace.

The bar where we eating was so cosy, the fire was roaring and we had the room to ourselves for most of our meal.

The menu had Sunday Roasts on and lots of other delicious food but Matty and I settled on a non traditional Sunday dinner.

Mushroom and spinach penne pasta, served in a white wine sauce £10.95.

Absolutely delicious and filling, I've been searching for a recipe to recreate it at home myself.

Matty went for the Cheese burger £11.65, with onion rings and chips.

He said that it might have been the best burger he'd ever had. Quite a big claim coming from him.

Fenton was clearly shattered from all the walking at Gibside so he was more than happy to be asleep.

Perfect end to a fantastic Sunday.
