The Jolly Fisherman on The Quay is situated next to the courts on the Quayside. This new addition to Newcastle is going to change the way we dine on the Quayside.
You may of heard of The Jolly Fisherman in Craster? Well, this is the sister restaurant. The famous Crab sandwich is still on the menu, and it is what I am desperate to try!
I was invited down with a few other North East bloggers for a tipple and a taste of their food.
Inside The Jolly Fisherman on the Quay the decor is fabulous.
This was upstairs where the Al La Carte menu will be served. You can expect delights such as, Northumberland lamb rump, Halibut filet and roasted Sole. There will also be specials, depending on what the fishing boat caught that morning.
With views like this from the restaurant upstairs you can imagine these tables are going to be booked up pretty fast.
As for what to drink, there is an extensive wine list, and enough cocktails to keep you going from afternoon till evening.
The sample of the menu we were offered to taste was delicious.
I was delighted to see that The Jolly Fisherman has a lot more to the menu than just fish. But of course you can never go wrong with some good old fish and chips.
Next time you're on the Quayside you might wish to pop in and see for yourself just how truly welcoming The Jolly Fisherman is.
I would recommend booking (and requesting a table with a view) just call 0191 261 7011.
Just one more picture of the Quayside. It is one of my favourite places after all.
