My Week In Training #25 - Great North Run

Monday 22/8 

I joined some of my running friends and went out on an off road 10k. It was very hill but had some unbelievable views of Durham. 

Tuesday 23/8

Rest day. 

Wednesday 24/8 

I went along to club run for my last GNR training group for some intervals. I managed 3.15 miles in just over 30 mins. I haven’t ran or felt that good for such a long time. 

Thursday 25/8 
8 mile run along the river banks of Durham. It was lashing down with rain. I was extreamly glad I managed to get another 8 miles in my legs but sadly I managed to get a blister on one of my toes on my left foot. I’ve got 2 weeks to get rid of it. If you have any ideas please let me know. 

Friday 26/8 

Rest day. 

Saturday 27/8 

I went to Durham parkrun which I ran on my own and managed a brilliant time of 29mins and 27 secs. I was so happy as I haven’t been able to do that since before I was injured. 

Sunday 28/8 
Rest day. 

I’m currently in Marbella doing some much needed 'heat' training. (I'm actually just on holiday!). I can't believe that on September the 11th I'll be taking part in my first ever half marathon - but not only that the actual Great North Run. I am so excited!! 

I am running the GNR for St Cuthbert's Hospice in Durham, who looked after my Uncle in his final days. Any form of donation I will be eternally thankful for. Here is my virgin money page!
