Jamie's Italian Evening Favourites - Newcastle

My sister and I really like Jamie's Italian so there was really only one person I could take along with me to try out their new Evening Favourites menu.

With a choice of 4 starters, 6 main courses and 4 puddings all for a brilliant price of £18.95 it's the perfect mid week treat.

As Emily and I both have a Jamie's Gold card we were treated to a glass of house white.

Which was really nice and dry - very easy to drink on a stuffy Summer's evening.
If you have a Gold card for Jamie's you also get a little taster before your meal starts.

Emily always get's the olives on ice, this is the vegetarian option.

I got this months special which was panzanella.
The tomatoes were incredibly fresh and were so juicy.

This is a nice way to start off any meal and the tasters change monthly which is always a good surprise when I go there as I never read the emails to find out what it is.

For starters Emily ordered Jamie's favourite antipasti board.

Emily finished the whole board and I was surprised that the chicken liver pate was her favourite. There was also another olive on there, which she wolfed down, and another olive looking item, which she bit, into and it turned out to be a chilli. Her face was so funny.

I got the tomato and ricotta bruschetta.

Again the slow roasted tomatoes tasted so good and fresh.

Not only did it look good it tasted good too. I was very happy with my choice of starter.
For main course Emily ordered the sausage casarecce. A pork and fennel sausage ragu with herby breadcrumbs and shaved parmesan.
Emily loved her dinner although thought it was a little bit too spicy for her. However it was good for me. Maybe she just can't handle the spice. Also the pasta pieces tasted so good!

Me, on the other hand was delighted to see my all time Jamie's Italian favourite on the evening favourites menu, prawn linguine.
Garlicky prawns fried with Scottish langoustine tails, with fennel, tomatoes, chilli, saffron, fish broth topped with a lemony rocket.

I just love this dish so much!
Between our main course and pudding Emily and I decided to treat ourselves to a cocktail each. On the left we have the passion fruit royal, a deliciously fruity cocktail with a prosecco kick and on the right, La Dolce Vita, an amaretto flavoured drink which was delicious.
It was around 8pm and the restaurant had got rather busy after we were given our main course. The service got really slow, which was a shame, as we had to wait a while to order our puddings.

But we managed to get the waiters attention and he took our order.
Emily went for the ice cream, chocolate and salted caramel with some proper butterscotch sauce.
I got the epic chocolate brownie - and it was epic.
The chocolate brownie was topped with salted caramel ice cream, proper butterscotch sauce and popcorn. It was incredibly delicious and I couldn't believe I managed to eat it all!

£18.95 for a 3 course meal is a bargain and the food is delicious, the perfect post work dinner.

The Evening favourites runs at Jamie's Italian Monday to Thursday from 6pm. I strongly recommend that you book a table as it was super busy by the time we left, to book a table at Newcastle just call 0191 500 0858.

When we left it was kind of Golden hour in the Toon and the sky was a beautiful gold/red colour.
And if you look closely at the bottom right you can just about see the entrance into Jamie's Italian.

What is your favourite dish at Jamie's Italian?
