Thaikhun - intu Metrocentre Gateshead

You may remember me tell you that the intu Metrocentre is having a little bit of a refurb in my Barburrito post,

Thaikhun has opened it's doors in the iconic Metrocentre.

Emily and I headed along for the launch party.

For the launch night there was a set menu full of Thaikhun best dishes.

As Emily as I were super hungry we did waste any time in letting our waitress know we were ready for our food.

But first we had a Thai takeout.

A cocktail especially for the launch night.

I love the way the cocktail was presented!

But then our food came and I was more impressed by the way the starters came.

To start we were treated to Sukumit 38 palter which was to be shared with 2 people.

From the left we have, salt and pepper squid, honey pork, chicken spring rolls and fish cakes.

The salt and pepper squid and the fish cakes were so tasty.

The staff were so friendly and it was a pleasure to talk to our waitress.

For main course we got a complete thai feast.

On the table we had, Geang kew wan gai. (Or Thai green curry.)

Spicy chicken salad.

Moo prik ging. Belly pork in a red curry sauce. (Emily loved this!)

And the most incredible pad thai with king prawns. This was my favourite.

As we started our night with cocktails it only seemed fitting that we ended it with smoothies.

Life is all about balance after all.

Emily and I had a brilliant time at Thaikhun and I'm really looking forward to going one night for date night. It's the perfect place to go for pre cinema dinner.

Have you been yet?
