Miller & Carter Newcastle - For The Love of Steak

As I promised in my Blue Shirt outfit post last week, I am going to start talking more than just about beauty. Today I have for you my first proper restaurant review.

On Friday night at 7:30 my boyfeind and I raced through the typical Friday night traffic on the Tyne bridge to get to Miller and Carter.

Miller and Carter opened in September on Mosley Street which in an establishment which has had in the past two rather famous owners, Geordie duo Ant and Dec.

I'm very particular how I like my steak. Must be medium rare, usually prefer a fillet but on the odd occasion prefer a sirloin, must be washed down with a glass of red and ate in good company. Me picky? Of course not I just know what I like.

After browsing the menu I convinced my better half to order the Chateaubriand which on the menu is recommended medium rare, perfect for me but R prefers his steak rare but he made the acceptation for me and we ordered it to my liking.

All steaks are severed with a choice of sauces, parsley butter, seasoned fries, a slice of onion load, balsamic glazed buffalo tomato and a wedge of lettuce with a choice of dressings.

I'm not a huge fan of parsley butter so I whipped it off before it had chance to melt into the steak.

We both opted for the Calvados peppercorn sauces and I actually prefer the onion loaf to the chips that are served.

I picked the classic cocktail and croutons for my lettuce wedge.

As we didn't have a starter I defiantly wasn't going to turn down pudding.

I couldn't decide what to have so I ordered the indulging tasting plate all to myself. White chocolate and pistachio iced parfait, rich chocolate brownie, sticky toffee pudding and vanilla ice cream. Just looking at the picture makes me want it again.

Washed down with an after dinner brandy. Yes, I am turning into my Dad.

Perfect treat for a Friday night.

If you are planning a trip to M & C I strongly suggest you book, they do take walk ins but I did notice a lot of people getting turned away as they were fully booked.

I hope you have enjoyed my first review, I am planning on doing some more. I just need to pluck up more courage on taking photos of my food before I tuck in.
